The Path of Liberation builds on the foundational teachings of the Joy of Living program, presenting a series of meditation techniques designed to strip away the causes of suffering and uncover the radiant awareness that underlies all experience. This path of practice, based on the ancient Buddhist teachings of Tibet, addresses the fundamental confusion that lies at the root of all suffering.
Tergar Madison holds regular retreats and workshops for those who wish to practice the Path of Liberation. Events are open to those who have completed the three Joy of Living levels, as well as to those who have been practicing Buddhist meditation daily for at least five years.
Path of Liberation Meditation Group
Tergar Madison holds two regular groups for those who have previously attended Path of Liberation programs.
For students who have received pointing out instructions from Mingyur Rinpoche or Khenpo Kunga, there is a Thursday noon-1:30pm discussion group, held weekly at the Tergar Madison Meditation Center, 301 S. Blount Street (click here for the daytime parking map). The discussions are based on the Vajrayana Online readings and videos posted each week for the current course. If you are newly registered in Vajrayana Online, contact Don Katz ([email protected]) to be added to the mailing list. Don sends weekly reminders and suggestions for discussion.
One Saturday each month, also at the Tergar Madison Meditation Center 301 S. Blount Street (Click here for the evening/weekend parking map), is a guided meditation and teaching (usually led by Cortland Dahl) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a Q & A session from 11:15 to 12:30 (usually with Cortland Dahl). Bring questions about your own practice. Questions usually focus on Nectar of the Path, Nectar of the Simple Yogi, or The Chariot for Traveling the Noble Path.
If you have attended a Path of Liberation retreat or workshop and would like to be added to the email list for these events, please contact Linda Mundt to join the group: [email protected].
